School of Rehabilitation Sciences

Established April 15, 2009

The School of Rehabilitation Sciences is the first and founding school of St. Mary's University College. Established on April 15, 2009 by OVCI (Usratuna), an Italian Organization, it began as a centre to train Physiotherapy staff for the Usratuna Children Rehabilitation Centre serving children with physical disabilities and syndromes.

The school was officially launched by Late H.G. Paulino Lukudu Loro, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, marking the beginning of St. Mary's University College's mission in higher education.

Training skilled physiotherapists to serve in rehabilitation centres, hospitals, and healthcare facilities across South Sudan.

School of Education

Established May 7, 2012

The School of Education is the second school established at St. Mary's University College on May 7, 2012. Supported by AVSI and located in the Usratuna Compound, this Italian organization-backed program focuses on training qualified Primary School Teachers.

AVSI's strategic collaboration has significantly reduced institutional expenses by covering salaries for 5 lecturers and 1 support staff. They also installed a sustainable solar-powered borehole, solving water and sanitation challenges on campus.

Training primary school teachers specializing in science subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics education.

School of Human Development

Established 2019 | Approved December 6, 2021

The School of Human Development is the third school in St. Mary's University College. Initiated in 2018, it became operational in 2019/2020 with three departments offering Bachelor of Arts degrees.

The official approval of all three degree programs was granted on December 6, 2021 by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Republic of South Sudan. Today, we are witnessing the 8th Graduation of the university, which could not have happened without the unfailing support of parents, guardians, donors, and benefactors.

School of Economics & Administrative Sciences

NEW - Launching 2026

The idea to establish the School of Economics and Administrative Sciences started in early July 2023 under the theme: "Normal expansion process of St. Mary's University College."

The Senate Board and experts completed initial curriculum work in 2024. Associate Professor Dr. Roden Loro Karlo was appointed to lead the school as Dean from September 1, 2025. Validation of the curriculum by technical experts was completed in October 2025.

The school is optimistic that it will hopefully start the first intake in early 2026 prior to the approval of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research authorities.
